Arnold Schwarzenegger is letting fans in on his struggles via his YouTube channel, as he explains how his third heart surgery went terribly wrong.
In the two-minute video, the Hollywood giant threw it all the way back to 2018, and his difficult recovery just three months before he started shooting Terminator 6.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘terrifying’ heart surgery gone wrong
Taking to his YouTube channel, the Terminator actor recalled waking up from his third heart surgery to the doctors standing over him, as they said:
“I’m so sorry, but unlike what we planned, which was none invasive surgery…. we made a mistake and poked through the heart wall, and there was internal bleeding, and we had to open you up to save your life.'”
“This is really great news,” Schwarzenegger thought ironically. However, he continued to say: “The bottom line is, you cannot roll the clock back. I was in the middle of a disaster… so now it’s about, ‘how do I get out of it?’ You have to shift gears.”
Of course, the movie star wanted to get out of the hospital as soon as he could, so he got out of bed and started walking as quickly as possible. First 10 steps, then longer and longer,” he explained, as he got his ‘buddies’ to give him extra motivation.
“I wanted to get really going with the exercise, get out of the hospital as quick as possible, and then get going with the training again. Because three months later, I started with Terminator 6, so I had to be able to move and run around,” he revealed.
With a positive attitude and an amazing support system, Arnold revealed that “he did it” and was “all back together again” in time for shooting the sixth film.
Schwarzenegger’s underwent heart surgery again in 2020
After the surgery in 2018, the 73-year-old had to have another operation two years later to get a new aortic valve to go along with his new pulmonary valve from his last surgery.
Taking to his Instagram after the surgery, the Terminator actor posted a picture of himself doing a thumbs up in the hospital bed, to let fans know he was okay, with the caption:
“Thanks to the team at the Cleveland Clinic, I have a new aortic valve to go along with my new pulmonary valve from my last surgery. I feel fantastic and have already been walking the streets of Cleveland enjoying your amazing statues. Thank you to every doc and nurse on my team!”
