UPDATE 12/07/2015: Aroldis Chapman’s girlfriend is the victim of an alleged domestic assault in October of 2015. While reports do not provide any names of the victim, it alleges that Chapman fired eight gunshots and choked his girlfriend. The unnamed girlfriend (presumed to be Raidelmis, but not confirmed), told police he flew into a rage after she questioned him about items on his cell phone.
For his part, Chapman admitted to firing the gun, but denied choking her. No charges were filed due to inconsistencies in the stories, and no physical evidence of injuries.

Aroldis Chapman’s girlfriend Raidelmis Mendosa Santiestelas had a baby girl in 2009 right before Aroldis defected. Her name is Ashanti Brianna. I guess the couple figured why not throw in an extra name in case she wants to switch it up. You know, there’s an awful lot about this guy’s life to be talked about, and we’ll start slowly.
First off, some other websites (terrible ones that don’t do any research) have shown a picture of a white woman with brown hair and called her Aroldis’ girlfriend. I can testify that woman is not Aroldis Chapman’s girlfriend Raidelmis Mendosa Santiestelas. Did they really think her she was Cuban? I’m not sure what they thought, but Raidelmis looks very Cuban and has had to wait a long time to get access to Mr. Chapman and the US of A. Raidelmis told Aroldis that she didn’t think she’d ever see him again right before he defected, which in itself was a bit of an adventure. He was actually in Europe when he was making the move to defect and had been playing for a Cuban National team in some big European baseball tourney.
Anyway, there’s other things to cover about the chap. Let’s start with the absolutely insane story regarding this other chick named Claudia Manrique. Okay, this woman claims she was tied up in Aroldis Chapman’s hotel room (with napkins, mind you) and claimed she was Chapman’s girlfriend. Aroldis Chapman’s girlfriend Raidelmis Mendosa Santiestelas probably has a few thoughts on this, but those thoughts are hers and hers alone. This Claudia lady may or may not have had some special relations with Aroldis at one time, but I sincerely doubt the man tied her up with napkins. The other odd detail is Manrique’s husband came to pick her up at the police station after she was questioned for ten hours. Man, I can’t imagine how weird it must be to grow up in poor Cuba and then live in America as a star pitcher with Lamborghinis and women tying themselves up with napkins. What a trip!
