Rebel Wilson has been through quite the weight loss transformation over the years, and in 2020, lost 80 pounds through her ‘year of health’. Despite all her hard work, the Pitch Perfect star was candid with her Instagram followers. Rebel Wilson explained how she felt after her weight gain saw her putting a few pounds back on.
The Hollywood star is an inspiration to many, as she showcases her vulnerability and isn’t shy to express herself. With her recent post, Rebel has created a safe space for fans who are going through the same thing, and the support is heartwarming to see.

Rebel Wilson ‘feels bad’ about herself after slight weight gain
Opening up to her 11 million Instagram followers, the 43-year-old revealed she had gained 30lb recently, and wasn’t feeling her best.
Alongside a video of herself in a jacuzzi, hiding her body with a wetsuit, the movie star penned: “Working really hard has meant that, coz of all the stress, I’ve gained 14kg’s (30 pounds)!
“It makes me feel bad about myself… it shouldn’t… but it does. I’m really proud of the work I’ve been doing on new movies and my memoir, it’s just been a LOT and I’ve lost focus on my healthy lifestyle.”
She then concluded her caption by questioning if anyone else was going through the same thing, and the comments were flooded with supportive fans, who could in fact relate.
“It’s like recovery from anything else, it ebbs and glows. Doesn’t mean you failed. Just get back up and reset yourself and get back at it,” wrote one supporter.
“I am in the same boat. It blows my mind that we can accomplish so much and be so much to others and still beat ourselves up or think less of ourselves over the number on the scale or size on the tag. Why is that our glaring failure? I’m right there with you and think you’re perfect as you are at any stage!” wrote another.
The star vowed to get healthier for her ‘future child’
The 43-year-old revealed she went to see a fertility doctor in 2019 to freeze her eggs, as the doc told her she’d have a better chance if she lost weight.
“I was taken aback. I thought, ‘Oh God, this guy’s so rude,'” she told PEOPLE she thought at first. However, she then concluded he was right, and her future child’s needs inspired her to get healthier.
This spurred on her ‘year of health’ in 2020, dropping 80lb and becoming the “healthiest version” of herself.
In November 2022, the star welcomed her daughter, Royce Lillian via surrogate. At the start of this year, rebel shared a picture of her daughter and partner, Ramona Agruma, which she captioned: “2024’s already GREAT!”
